  • Although Max is a California resident and has never previously been to Nebraska, the government has insisted upon his extradition to Nebraska, ensuring total isolation from any loved ones. Despite facing federal charges, he is being held in small county jail outside of Omaha, Nebraska; Cass County Jail in Plattsmouth. This jail does not allow visitation and has zero outdoor access for recreation.

  • Max is allowed to write and receive letters while in custody. Please note that there is no expectation of privacy; every letter that is received or sent is screened and reviewed by law enforcement. All mail that is in accordance with BOP policies and procedures should be addressed to:

  • Yes, Max is allowed to receive new paperback books from retailers and bookstores such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. He can’t receive hardcovers or books sent from individuals, they must be sent through an online shopping distributor.

    Other than books, mail, news articles or photos, no other items can be sent to Max. The jail does not allow packages from outside the facility; everything must be purchased through Max's commissary account.

  • No, Cass County Jail stopped its visitation program due to Covid protocols in 2020 and has refused to reinstate visitation in the years since. Friends and family can book video-chats with Max to communicate but all calls are made at the caller’s expense and are monitored and recorded.
